Legal
Working on text involves legal aspects such as copyright and ownership issues. Here's an explanation how Teksflow works from a legal perspective.
Given the complexity of intellectual property and copyright, we need to set out a number of terms and conditions on which we work. Among them:
- Teksflow does not deal with any work we deem to be inappropriate, or socially or morally unacceptable.
- When you send us material, you should also send signed confirmation that it is your own work or signed confirmation by the original author stating that the work is theirs and they wish us to work on it.
- The work you send to Teksflow can be sent via secure means. All work transmitted by us will be encrypted unless specifically agreed otherwise. However Teksflow cannot guarantee that information or material is not dispersed by third parties (the author or other parties). Work deemed of value by the author should be copyrighted as soon as possible and before distribution via the Internet.
- Teksflow will include a "no liability" clause in every contract, which means that individual authors will remain legally responsible for all content, and opinions expressed in all versions and formats of their material worked on by Teksflow, original, translated, and/or edited.
- Teksflow cannot guarantee that any material we work on will become commercially viable.
- Teksflow will not work on material until the agreed payment or contract has been arranged and signed.
- Any contracts between the author and publishers, producers or other third parties do not involve Teksflow. Teksflow honours only the contracts signed directly between itself and another party.
