Text transformation
Turning your concept, script or book into a work in its own right in another language, is not simply a matter of finding a person who knows the relevant language.
Teksflow often hears people say: “My sister is great at English and she will do the translation free. She also knows me best.”
Now ask yourself the following questions:
- How much
time and effort have you devoted to creating your material?
- How important is this work to you? Do
you want to try to reach a wide audience than family and friends?
- Do you, your relatives and/or friends know how the press works and what attracts a journalist’s attention?
- What material does a producer often
throw away even before reading it?
- How much text is typically read on each web page and which are the first areas an average user’s eyes focus on in the first few seconds of a site visit?
- How much text is suitable for a mobile device?
To attract the attention of professionals in publishing, television, the film industry and new media, requires skilful, appropriate translation. This involves an understanding of how the book, movie and television industries work and what they require. Editing can add to the initial impact and clarity of material by transforming the translated work into natural native language and the appropriate style for a particular medium. Suitable formatting may boost opportunities for a work to be considered by a publisher or producer.
Here is an example of a regular
translation and a Teksflow Translation Plus version.
